DR. CHANDROTH NAVIN PANKAJAKSHAN

Dr Chandroth Navin graduated from the Volgograd State Medical University in 2009. He pursued his postgraduate training at the Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences in London between 2015 and 2017 under the supervision of Professor Peter Vanezis. He obtained his Diploma in Medical Jurisprudence (Pathology) from the Society of Apothecaries of London in 2017.

During his training in London, he had also obtained the Diploma in Forensic Medical Sciences (Society of Apothecaries of London), Diploma in Forensic Human Identification (Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of London) and the Diploma in Management of the Dead (Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences, London). Upon his return to Malaysia, he was posted to the Department of Forensic Medicine, Pulau Pinang Hospital. He has experience in managing mass disasters, being part of the MH17 antemortem DVI team and was part of Ops Daulat in Lahad Datu during the Sulu incursion.

His interest in the legal and humanitarian aspects of human identification led him to pursue a law degree.

He obtained the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Honours – Second Class Upper Division) degree from the University of London in 2022. He is currently pursuing his subspeciality training in Forensic Anthropology at the University of Dundee, Scotland. Dr Navin is the Secretary of the Malaysian Society of Forensic Medicine & Sciences (MASFORMS).
