Dr. Norhayati binti Jaffar graduated from University of Malaya in 1998. She started her career as a dental officer in the Ministry of Health (MOH) in her hometown in Johor Bahru, and subsequently to several other dental clinics in Johor state.
She went to University of Melbourne to do post-graduate degree in Forensic Odontology for two years and came back in March 2009 where she was then posted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
Among the high-profile cases that she had been involved directly or indirectly are the Sosilawati murder, Kim Jong Nam as well as the missing Irish girl.
She has vast experience in managing DVI operation such as Ops Daulat in Sabah, MH17 in 2014, Ops Wang Kelian and helicopter crashes in Semenyih in 2015 and during Sarawak state election in 2016, Tahfiz school fire in 2017, Batang Kali landslide and the most recent incident this year, the Elmina plane crash.
